CHRIST THE TRUTH

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free -John 8:32

When a person is offended by the truth, that truth can't do much for that person. Knowing the truth is different from knowing and accepting the truth. A lot of people who engage in the wrong act are quite aware that what they are doing is wrong but they don't want to accept it is.

When you are offended by the truth, two things happens; the first being you already hate that truth and the second is you will hate whoever the truth is coming from. This is why many men of God are persecuted today, because at some point, someone was offended by the truth spoken by them and the offended are just waiting for an excuse to spread rumours about them or to rain insults on them. I have had my own fair share of being hated for the sake of the truth, but I have never been the one who regretted. The Bible says:

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. -John 14:6

This goes to say that whosoever is offended in the truth is offended in God and if you are offended in God, who can save you? This tells us why a lot of people continue in their wrong despite the fact that they know it is only doing them more harm than good. Offense has blinded them from the reality that they are only hurting themselves.

Remember, the truth you resist the most is the one you need the most. The truth won't stop being the truth just because you are offended by it. Offense only steals from you and not from who you believe offended you. You can never really change for the better or reduce your mistakes until you are no longer offended by the truth.
